Bracket comments inserted by Ted Post. 12-12-1999 Butternuts, 29 March 1874 -Dear Brother Johnson, Father died tonight at Eight o'clock and Mother is but just alive. She cannot live but a few hours at best. (died 28 Nov 1874) Oh dear, what shall I do. I want you to go up to Louisa's (sister) and have Orvil (Louisa's son-in-law) go up on Cares Creek (Carrs Creek, flows through Sidney Center, NY) to a Mr. Mellor's near Sidney Center. He is a relative of Father's and have him let the Mellors of Franklin know of his death and come over if you can. I wish Louisa would come and stay a few days with me. I am so lonesome and tired. Yours Sister Mianda PS; The funeral will be Tuesday ###### at one o'clock at the Methodist Church. I hope the Mellors will be informed of it. (END OF PAGE ONE) Sunday Morning. Mother is all most gone. | |
