Seventy guests sat down. at the wedding reception of Miss Irene. Oakley, daughter of Mr. Mrs. A. Oakley, of Brailsford, and Mr. Frank Simms, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Simms of Hulland, which was held at the Brailsford Institute on Monday.
The wedding had taken place: previously at Brailsford Church, where Rev. T. B. Brown officiated. assisted by the, Rev. R. C. Cole. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. Slack, of Belper, looked charming in oyster satin beaute, with a wreath of orange blossom, carrying bouquet of lilies. The bridesmaids, Miss Oakley. and Mrs. Laurie Simms, were dressed in lemon georgette. The attendants, Monica, and Audrey Durose, looked extremely pretty in duck-egg-blue georgette, carrying bouquets of roses.
The bridesmaids' bouquets were of bronze chrysanthemums. Mr. G. Harrison, of Hulland, was the best man.
At the service the hymns, "Lead us, Heavenly Father, lead us" and "The Voice that breathed o'er Eden," were sung.
The happy couple, who received numerous and very useful presents, are to take up residence at Bradley Corner Farm
