Much interest was evinced in the wedding which took place at Hulland Parish Church, which was well filled with friends on June 12th, the bride being Miss Laura Sims, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sims, Church Cottages, Hulland and the bridegroom was Mr. Bernard Robins, Belper, who is well known Derby hairdresser.

The ceremony conducted by the Rev. N. G. Cole, Vicar. The hymns "Love Divine," and "Lead us, Heavenly Father, lead us" were sung.

Mr. A. Easter presided at the organ, and played appropriate wedding music before and after the service. Given away by her brother, Mr. Noel Sims, the bride looked very becoming in powder blue two piece with hat and shoes to match, and carrying shower bouquet of pink roses. She was attended by her friend Miss Elizabeth Brown, and Miss Joyce Sims and Master Roy Sims, niece and nephew of the bride.

The two elder attendants wore dresses of navy blue and white with headdresses of feathers of the same colours. They carried shower bouquets of white roses, and the small attendant carried basket of blue and white posies. Mr. Wilfred Mills was the best man.

On leaving the church the bride presented with horseshoes by Miss Jean Sims and Miss Laura Grindey.

The reception was held at the Institute where 80 guests were entertained. The bride and bridegroom were the recipients of 130 presents and cheques, the bride's gift to the bridegroom being bureau, and that of the bridegroom to the bride a silver fox cape.

Later the bride and bridegroom left London for the honeymoon, the bride travelling in a navy and white two piece.
