The wedding took place at Christ Church, Hulland on the 19th inst. of Miss Doris Sims, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Sims, Hulland and Mr. Arthur Leslie Etherington son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Etherington, North Avenue, Ashbourne.
Both bride and bridegroom are well known in their respective parishes, and much interest was evinced in the ceremony. The Rev. N. G. Cole was the officiating clergyman, and the bride was given away by her father.
She wore a dress of oyster lace over satin, with hat and shoes to match, and her bouquet was composed of pink carnations and lilies of the valley. She was attended by Miss L. Sims (sister), and Miss M. Birch (friend), who wore dresses of lemon coloured georgette, with eau-de-lii saches and shoes to match, and carried bouquets of yellow roses and maidenhair fern. They also wore green crystals the gifts of the bridegroom.
Mr F. Ben discharged the duties of the best man. The service was choral. and the hymns, "Love Divine, all loves excelling." and "Lead us heavenly Father lead us" were sung, and Mr. A. Easter, the organist, played appropriate voluntaries bridal party entered and left the church.
The reception was held at the Institute, where over 60 guests were entertained, and later the bride and bridegroom left for Skegness for their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a dress of floral blue with beige coloured hat and coat. They were recipients of a large number of handsome and useful presents.
