Welcome to our family history site. This is a culmination of many years' work tracing the ancestry of my family via the various sources available, sometimes going off track when stories and people of interest appear. If any of the data is in error please do contact and correct as not all sources are a accuarate as you would like them to be.

Through DNA I am linking with many 'cousins' across the globe finding out interesting facts and tieing families together, please do get in touch if you think that there may be a connection or just want to know more.

The family is made up of the 'traditional' four grandparents Rolfe, Ashford, Twells, and Sims or RATS as I have come to affectionately know them.

Most of the family hail from Birmingham, England with the Rolfe family migrating sometime at the end of the 18th Century from Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire.

The Ashford family have been in and around Birmingham for all time working in the Jewellery trade, that made the city famous, with two of their ancestors being twice Mayor of Walsall and Sherrif of Lichfield and links to the Shakespeare family

The Twells family came from Donington on the Derbyshire / Leicestershire border, via a few of Her Majesty's establishments.

While the Sims family lived in the Derbyshire area owning and working on the many farms that cover the countryside.

There are direct links to the Harvey family in Birmingham who were established Sword Manufacturers and supplied the Royal Armouries and links to Rolfe family from Heacham whose son John Rolfe famously married the Princess known as Pochahontas
